As a Sr. Product Engineer, you will take a project leadership role, planning, developing, coordinating, and directing large-scale engineering projects or multiple smaller projects with complex features. You will hold full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments while developing novel solutions to unique problems that impact organizational programs.
This role requires strong technical competence, leadership, and collaboration, as you will work closely with other operational departments and customers to deliver successful projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Project Leadership: Assist in planning, development and coordination of an engineering project with personnel needs, and schedules.
* Product Design Expertise: Product line specialist, functioning as engineering expert on assigned projects.
* Technical Consulting: Acts as a technical consultant assisting with solution presentation and assisting with site performance demonstration.
* Advisory Role: Can perform as a staff advisor and consultant as to a technical specialty, for equipment or program function.
* Project Accountability: Accountable for achieving all assigned project tasks and objectives within the established strategy, ensures functionality while meeting specifications.
* Team Oversight Ensures that project tasks assigned to others on a project are achieved within the established budget, schedule and priority.
* Design Validation: Responsible for engineering design reviews, ensuring fit, function and accuracy of engineering.
* Process Optimization: Recommends changes in methods and procedures to achieve a more successful project completion or improve an engineering process.
* Progress Reporting: Keeps leaders informed on status of assigned projects with timely updates and alternate plan suggestions when outcomes cannot be achieved.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Follows-up with other functional departments on project tasks assigned to him or those who he supervises to ensure critical job or project items are completed with the needed timelines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Minimum of 5-6 years of relevant engineering experience, with a focus on product design and development.
* Strong calculation experience for performing engineering analyses, such as stress, tolerance, and kinematic calculations.
* Additional Tools: Proficiency in EPDM, SAP, IES, and other engineering support tools, as well as standard Windows software.
* Mechanical Aptitude: Deep understanding of mechanical components, systems, and their applications in manufacturing, including the ability to analyze how machine performance impacts upstream and downstream processes.
* Design Deliverables: Proven ability to create detailed assembly and detail drawings, BOMs, timing diagrams, and comprehensive project documentation, including design basis and theory of machine operation.
* Supervisory Guidance: Operate with minimal supervision, focusing on overall objectives, critical issues, and innovative concepts, consulting with leadership only on complex or unusual challenges.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts and project updates clearly.
* Interpersonal Skills: Strong team-oriented mindset, fostering collaboration and promoting a cohesive team environment for quality project execution.
* Leadership: Experience coordinating and guiding the work of multiple engineers on complex projects.
