Quality Assurance Supervisor
Location: On-Site role - Meriden, CT 06451
Salary Range: $85k - $105k/year
The Quality Assurance Supervisor will lead and manage a team of quality inspectors. This position plays a critical role in overseeing quality assurance activities, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will need the ability to lead and manage individuals, a strong understanding of compliance regulations, and a keen eye for detail.
The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring regulatory compliance.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Aerospace Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This role is designed for an individual with strong experience in Aerospace Manufacturing, Quality Inspections, people management and a deep familiarity with industry standards such as AS9100, AS13100, FAA, and Nadcap.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in leading a team of quality assurance inspectors to ensure inspections are completed in a timely manner while ensuring compliance with both internal and external standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervises daily activities of the AGC/GK quality inspection team ensuring timeliness of incoming, in process, and final inspections.
* Assist team to overcome daily challenges with nonconformances and understanding of requirements.
* Coordination of source over inspections for various customers.
* Lead and coordinate inspector training on blueprint interpretation, customer requirements, inspection criteria, inspection equipment, gage usage, and inspection documentation.
* Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to drive process improvements, reduce variation, and eliminate nonconformances.
* Oversee annual reviews, coaching and development for direct reports.
* Promote a positive team driven environment driving continuous improvements and a culture of compliance and ethical behavior.
* Stay current with customer and regulatory changes to maintain compliance with inspections.
* Provides audit support to the Quality Compliance Manager and Quality Engineers.
* Tracking of inspection turn around time to provide monthly metrics.
* Quality documentation review and approvals as required.
* Generation C of C and performs DQR duties as needed.
* Performs inspection of parts as needed.
* Partner with HR and other departments to develop and implement effective training programs for employees.
* Oversee FAA repair station and ATP scheduling and documentation.
* Drive continuous improvement of workflows, processes, and technology.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience:
o Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a quality inspection role within a Manufacturing environment.
o Preferred 1-2 years of experience in a lead inspector role with daily task organization responsibilities.
o Proven experience working with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
o Familiarity with quality inspection techniques and tools (e.g., handheld devices, comparators, FARO arms, height stands, etc).
Skills:
o Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and quality management software or systems.
o Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate and comprehensive records.
o Knowledge of basic quality concepts, lean manufacturing principles, and regulatory standards.
o Continuous improvement mindset.
o Transformational leader with the ability to guide employees through change.
Education:
o Associate"s or Bachelor's degree in related field (e.g., Business Administration, Quality Assurance, or Engineering) is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
* DQR certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to sit for extended periods and work in an office setting.
* Occasional travel to other company sites or client locations may be required.
