Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled second shift Final Inspector to ensure parts across multiple product lines meet all drawing and quality requirements prior to shipment. This role is responsible for reviewing CMM results, performing manual inspections of critical features, validating documentation, and confirming non-dimensional requirements. The Final Inspector serves as the last quality checkpoint before product release.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform final inspection to verify parts are fully compliant to engineering drawings and customer requirements prior to shipment.
* Review and validate CMM results to ensure correct revision, datum structure, and completeness of inspection.
* Perform manual inspection of critical features using hand gauges (micrometers, calipers, pins, thread gauges, etc.).
* Verify non‑dimensional requirements, including drawing notes, surface finish, deburr, markings, and special process requirements.
* Validate all quality paperwork and travelers, ensuring completeness and accuracy prior to final release.
* Act as the final quality gate, ensuring parts are ship‑ready and preventing quality escapes.
* Initiate and route nonconforming material to Quality/MRB as required.
* Maintain accurate inspection records and complete required inspection documentation.
Core Qualifications:
* Strong hand gauging experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including inspection notes, GD&T, and tolerances.
* Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to follow standard inspection procedures.
* Ability to accurately complete quality inspection paperwork and documentation.
* Ability to pass internal Quality Certification and obtain an Inspector Stamp within two (2) weeks of hire.
* Reliable and Comfortable working on second shift.
* Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior experience performing final inspection in a machining or precision manufacturing environment.
* Familiarity with reviewing CMM reports (programming experience not required).
* Basic understanding of GD&T (training can be provided).
* Experience working in a regulated or quality‑driven manufacturing environment.
* Strong communication skills and ability to escalate issues appropriately.
