Job Summary:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to provide process planning and formal work instruction support in a high-complexity aerospace manufacturing environment. This role focuses on developing, reviewing, and maintaining manufacturing work instructions within a digital MES platform, supporting large-structure fabrication and assembly operations.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in aerospace or defense manufacturing, and skilled at translating engineering requirements into clear, actionable documentation for shop floor use.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain Formal Work Instructions within a digital Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
* Coordinate with industrial engineering, scheduling, and production teams to ensure timely release of process documentation aligned with build needs
* Lead formal reviews of work instructions to ensure compliance with engineering data, safety, quality, and stakeholder input
* Provide on-site liaison support, including updates and redlines to existing instructions based on floor feedback
* Identify and implement opportunities for process or productivity improvements
Core Qualifications:
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related technical field
* Equivalent hands-on experience in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing (civilian or military)
* Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and process specifications
* Understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and quality standards (AS9100/ISO9001)
* Experience in authoring and validating shop floor work instructions
* Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills
* Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
* Experience in manufacturing or assembly of large structures (e.g., aerospace, defense, spaceflight)
* Familiarity with welding, composites, machining, and test environments
* Exposure to digital MES systems or manufacturing planning tools
* Knowledge of spaceflight or mission-critical hardware standards
