JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for sample preparation, test and validation of polymer materials. Conduct material characterization and provide polymer materials modelling inputs for virtual analyses (CAE, Durability and other Multiphysics simulations)
- Work in conjunction with engineering and product development teams B.S. in Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Polymer Sciences or Engineering is preferred
- 2+ years practical experience directly related to Automotive plastics and composites formulation and processing is preferred
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
- Very organized and detail oriented in documentation, report writing, and data cross functional data management
- Exceptional communication skills.
* Sample Preparation: Prepare polymer and composite samples for testing, including cutting, polishing, and mounting.
* Material Testing: Conduct various mechanical and thermal tests on materials using specialized lab equipment.
* Equipment Management: Operate and help maintain specialized laboratory instruments.
* Data & Documentation: Accurately document all test results to support the materials database.
* Engineering Support: Assist senior engineers with their R&D projects and experiments.
* Lab Maintenance: Ensure the laboratory is kept safe, organized, and well maintained.
