Job Overview:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations at a key client site in Indianapolis, IN. This role is focused on developing and improving manufacturing processes, supporting machining operations, and ensuring product quality in a high-precision environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical fundamentals, hands-on manufacturing experience, and a collaborative mindset. Aerospace experience is preferred but not required-candidates from other high-precision or regulated industries are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, routings, and support documentation for new and existing components
* Interpret technical drawings and translate them into practical, shop-floor-ready instructions
* Create, update, and maintain shop documentation including routers, work instructions, and case records
* Support machining operations (milling, turning) with process guidance and troubleshooting
* Perform and support inspection activities, including taking manual measurements (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
* Assist in developing and executing inspection plans to ensure product quality and compliance
* Work within non-standard ERP systems, including manual data entry and tracking
* Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives
* Collaborate cross-functionally to support production needs and resolve issues
* Provide flexible, hands-on support across multiple product lines and areas of the shop floor as needed

Core Qualifications
* Bachelor"s degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience
* Experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace experience highly preferred)
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
* Working knowledge or exposure to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
* Familiarity with machining processes and inspection techniques
* Experience using standard measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
* Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
* Comfortable working in systems requiring manual tracking and ERP data entry
* Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in aerospace manufacturing environments
* Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality management systems
* Exposure to Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
* Experience with inspection planning or quality documentation
* Customer-facing or supplier quality experience
* Willingness to support occasional or alternating weekend coverage
