A Principal Aerospace Engineering job at Edwards AFB, CA is currently available through Belcan at one of our key engineering clients. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Systems, or Aerospace engineering, and be a subject matter expert with aircraft propulsion systems in a highly dynamic environment. Experience with military systems is essential to support of this customer. Additionally, experience with aircraft flight testing is a plus.
Job Duties:
· Design and test military propulsion and auxiliary power systems through ground and flight testing
· Use modeling and simulation tools to calculate system performance
· Develop requirements verification methods and perform model validation against test data
· Ensure requirements traceability from system to component level
· Analyze system functionality to identify gaps and resolve issues
· Work with customer to analyze data to improve and enhance requirements and functionality of systems
· Assist with design of sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle requirements
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Systems or Aerospace engineering
· 20+ years' of experience
· Proficient in developing requirements, designing, and testing aircraft propulsion and auxiliary power systems
· Background with tactical military aircraft
· Experience in flight test support
· Experience working in multi-disciplinary design, development, and test teams
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Due to the nature of the work performed, US Citizenship is REQUIRED.
· Must have ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE to be considered for this opportunity!

· Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinker motivated to apply technical standards and methodologies to develop solutions
· Proficient in the analysis, and test of flight vehicle propulsion systems
· Experience with propulsion system design and development
· Adept at designing and certifying to military standards
· Collaborative team player with the ability to provide technical leadership and position others for success
· Self-starter that can perform independently with minimal direction
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $150,000 to $190,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
