Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Production Technician to support the development, assembly, testing, and qualification of advanced electromechanical systems. This role will work within a multidisciplinary manufacturing environment to build complex components and assemblies while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical assembly, precision hand tools, technical drawings, and manufacturing processes. This position requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to troubleshoot production challenges, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams.
Job Responsibilities:
* Build a variety of electromechanical components, parts, and assemblies according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions.
* Perform production builds while maintaining quality, accuracy, and adherence to manufacturing standards.
* Read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and detailed work instructions.
* Utilize precision mechanical and electrical tools including torque wrenches, wrenches, Allen keys, micrometers, calipers, and other calibrated equipment.
* Troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies and identify opportunities for process improvements.
* Support the development and qualification of new manufacturing techniques and processes.
* Operate production equipment, testing equipment, and high-powered magnet systems.
* Identify product issues and provide recommendations to improve manufacturing processes.
* Communicate challenges, ideas, and improvement opportunities with peers and leadership.
* Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
* Support assembly and testing activities from initial build through final completion.
* Perform additional production and technical duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical education preferred.
* Minimum of 6 years of experience working with mechanical or electrical assembly.
* Minimum of 6 years of experience using various hand tools and precision measurement equipment.
* Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, assembly instructions, and electrical documentation.
* Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
* Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with winding equipment or coil manufacturing.
* Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC).
* Experience with material processing.
* Experience working with cryogenic materials such as liquid nitrogen (LN2) and helium in controlled environments.
* Experience using power tools and fabrication equipment.
* Experience with electrical schematics, wiring, harness builds, and electrical assembly.
* Experience with epoxy potting or injection molding processes.
* Experience with plumbing systems and vacuum systems.
* Experience with soldering.
* Experience working with complex electromechanical systems.
* Ability to take direction from leadership while working independently.
* Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing or engineering environments.
