Position Summary
The Material Handler - Warranty Return Center supports the inspection, movement, and handling of warranty return products in accordance with established procedures, specifications, and quality standards. This role is responsible for safely moving materials, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment. The Material Handler works closely with inspection and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient material flow, data accuracy, and compliance with safety and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to safely move, stage, load, and unload warranty return products.
Receive, transport, and position materials in designated inspection, quarantine, and storage areas.
Support inspection activities by presenting product for inspection and assisting with visual checks to verify conformance to specifications.
Perform visual inspections to identify obvious non-conformities and assist in documenting findings in warranty databases and systems.
Accurately record material movement, inspection support activities, and product status in computer-based systems.
Assist in the identification, segregation, labeling, and disposition of non-conforming materials and products.
Collaborate with inspection, quality, and operations teams to support workflow efficiency and quality objectives.
Participate in audits and continuous improvement activities by providing input related to material handling, product condition, and process performance.
Maintain organized work areas to support FIFO, traceability, and safe material flow.
Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations, including forklift safety requirements, to ensure a safe work environment for self and others.
Required Qualifications
Commitment to safety, quality, and procedural compliance.
Ability to operate a computer for data entry, documentation, and following work instructions.
Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Ability to routinely lift to 50 pounds.
1-3 years of experience in material handling, quality inspection support, warehouse, manufacturing, or a related environment preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and material handling activities.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, and climbing on and off forklifts throughout the shift.
Ability to safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks for extended periods.
Manual handling of products, containers, and materials in a warehouse or inspection environment.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail and situational awareness.
