Job Description:
Will perform a variety of engineering work in the development, improvement, and optimization of multiple processes and techniques, including circuit card assembly, standard module assembly, and electro-mechanical final assembly. The work will include improving and optimizing current processes, implementing new tooling, improving existing tooling, and creating robust technical documentation on existing processes and tooling.
Essential Functions:
· Develops, implements and analyzes manufacturing engineering plans and projects and communicates them to internal and external customers.
· Defines, develops and transfers manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies and systems.
· Develops manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes.
· Actively participates with engineering project teams in order to coordinate the release of new products.
· Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
· Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
· Implementing manufacturing standard work and best practices to improve operational metrics.
· Translate drawing requirements into detailed work instructions for the assembly, integration, and testing of complex end-products.
· Work with existing and legacy equipment.
· Control and improve existing processes.
· Perform failure analysis and risk mitigation.
· Complete technical writing and training related tasks.
· Coordinate with maintenance group for equipment upkeep and training.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor"s degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience; Graduate degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; or 8 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Qualifications:
· Manufacturing SOWs and Best Practices
· Failure Analysis and Risk Mitigation
· Technical writing of training materials
· US Citizen & be eligible with Interim Secret Clearance.
Preferred:
· Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
· Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering background preferred.
· Experience with legacy tooling, code, and equipment.
· Robust project management and technical writing skills.
· Ability to communicate project status and risks to leadership team.
· Expertise in making data driven decisions to improve and develop processes.
· Experience using DFM, Six-Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing Principles.
· Experience using DMAIC process and associated tools.
· Possess a Secret Security Clearance
