Job Summary:
The Senior Sourcing Specialist will lead procurement activities for power generation services and parts, ensuring reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions. This role is pivotal in aligning procurement strategies with the client"s commitment to operational excellence and sustainability. The Senior Sourcing Specialist will oversee end-to-end procurement processes, from supplier selection and contract negotiation to inventory management and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in sourcing, a strong understanding of the power generation industry, and the ability to execute impactful sourcing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and Implement Procurement Strategies: Design and execute sourcing plans that drive value, reduce costs, and support business objectives with an emphasis on supplier quality, reliability, and sustainability.
* Supplier Selection and Qualification: Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, cost, and delivery standards.
* Contract Negotiation and Management: Lead negotiations to structure favorable contracts with competitive pricing, mitigating risks, and managing contracts throughout their lifecycle.
* Procurement Management: Oversee end-to-end procurement activities, including RFQs, purchase order issuance, and vendor management during the ITO-OTR phases.
* Cost Control and Savings Initiatives: Drive cost-saving initiatives through value engineering, competitive bidding, and alternate sourcing while tracking and reporting total savings.
* Supplier Relationship and Performance Management: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, using key metrics to monitor delivery, quality, and compliance performance.
* Risk Management and Compliance: Proactively address supply chain risks and ensure adherence to industry regulations, environmental standards, and internal policies.
* Process Improvement and Innovation: Champion continuous improvement in procurement and supply chain processes, leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, and digital tools to enhance efficiency and cost reduction.
Required Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor"s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related technical field.
* Experience: Minimum of 8 years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the energy, industrial, or power generation sectors. Expertise in supplier negotiations, contract management, and managing large-scale sourcing projects. GE experience, including familiarity with its tools and systems, is highly preferred.
* Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of power generation equipment, materials, and services, with the ability to align procurement with technical and operational needs. Knowledge of industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements in power generation sourcing.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Advanced Education: Master"s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Certifications: Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or Lean/Six Sigma certification.
* Global Sourcing Experience: Proven experience managing international supplier relationships with knowledge of global procurement regulations, tariffs, and customs requirements.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP and procurement tools such as SAP, Oracle, or Ariba.
* Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities. Strategic thinking and problem-solving expertise, with a focus on measurable impact and continuous improvement.
