A Composite Manufacturing Engineer job is available with our client in San Jose, CA. As a Composite Manufacturing Engineer you will be using your skills and expertise to support continuous improvement projects for scaling a Test Vehicle build for Production for manufacturing process and tooling. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor"s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of relevant Manufacturing Engineering experience, with 2+ years of related experience in Aerospace/ Aviation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist aircraft build up and modifications to electrical components, mechanical composite assemblies, and wiring harnesses.
* Utilizes various forms of engineering and technical information such as model based engineering definition, wiring & schematic diagrams, engineering dispositions, and ground support / test equipment to support the build of our Test Vehicles.
* Problem solve on the factory floor and revise work instructions for repairs and rework to support a safe, timely build of the aircraft.
* Support continuous improvement projects for scaling the Test Vehicle build for Production for manufacturing process and tooling.
* Learn the role and associated systems through a two week-weekday training (M-F; 8hrs per day), and then continue to support weekend shifts for the aircraft builds.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor"s degree in Engineering.
* 5+ years of relevant Manufacturing Engineering experience, with 2+ years of related experience in Aerospace/ Aviation.
* MES systems experience
* Manufacturing process experience
* Preferred bachelor"s degree in related field in Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering.
* Understanding of AS9100 requirements.
* Must have extensive experience using shop tools.
* Understanding aircraft safety, tool control, FOD, and industry standards.
* Experience working with composite material layup, secondary bonding, and/or final assembly.
* Experience working in a product development environment.
* Effective organizational and time management skills.
* Strong computer skills with an emphasis on Google suite.
* Ability to work in a fast paced and highly regulated environment with adaptability to changing priorities.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Great communication skills and a high attention to detail are required.
* Authoring and revising work instructions for technicians.
