An Aerospace Supplier Quality Engineer Advisor is currently available through Belcan in Mexico. This job is a flexible, subcontract that will deploy to customer suppliers for the duration of the project. Projects can vary in length pending the complexity and magnitude of the situation. As critical needs arise this job will deploy to these suppliers to support, execute, and drive measurable solutions and outcomes. Most qualified candidates will have past work experience involving quality assurance, support of technical project issues, recovery planning, crisis intervention, etc. as it relates to aerospace industry. Specifically, we are looking for Advisors with subject-matter-expertise related to aerospace manufacturing processes, supply chain, aerospace hardware, and others related.
The Supplier Quality Engineer Advisor will be Aerospace experienced engineer focused on Manufacturing activities to support supply chain delivery on time making sure requirements are fulfilled with highest quality. Engineer capable of being deployed immediately at site to be responsible to support customer request(s) to maintain coverage of expediting critical parts, be highly skilled in RCA techniques to assess near term issues and develop/prepare and present KPIs for improvement (considering lagging and leading as primary inputs). This engineer is required to collect data to understand and inform on risks identified in the manufacturing process that can compromise delivery while identifying risks and resiliently looking for solutions in favor of customer but also supporting the customer"s supplier.
Skilled in validation, action plan definitions and follow up, and prone to accelerate and expediting planning when needed or possible. The required skills also include understanding process flow and how to navigate it to deliver in adverse environment, validation of key metrics as requested, check input material and follow up, follow 'right at the first time' policy, also red flag when issues identified and develop alternative plans as the engineer determine and or communicate to (Belcan) higher management to look for backfill resource(s) for reallocation. Focused in reviewing supplier based on delivery performance as well as customer impact/risk per customer"s requirements/definitions, following project governance and structure per Customer"s definition and satisfaction.
Job Duties:
* Deploy and travel to the supplier(s) as needed. Work content can require extensive travel.
* Act as an advisor and consult suppliers by working as a team member ensuring critical customer needs are met.
* Use quality tools to develop strategic objectives and tactical implementation for different process elements to improve, measure, monitor supplier performance.
* Establish and maintain a qualified and preferred supply base.
* Assess and communicate technical risks and mitigation associated with the supply base.
* Design and maintain forms for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and delivery of supplier products.
* Implement supplier scorecard and work with supply base to improve performance.
* Work independently on projects to solve problems of various degrees of complexity and lead projects to improve supplier performance creating development plans for key suppliers.
* Maintain supplier quality Approved Vendor List and generate supplier performance reports.
* Perform and coordinate audits to validate supplier's processes and capabilities.
* Works with suppliers and client engineering functions on value engineering activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Ability to travel as needed and deploy rapidly in short notice to begin work due to assessment, supply chain disruptions, and project improvement initiatives.
* Subject Matter Expert (SME) within supplier quality, development, manufacturing, and supply chain as it relates to aerospace manufacturing.
* Extensive work experience within one or more of the following disciplines: aerospace hardware, aerospace core components, aerospace manufacturing processes and supply chain related, etc.
* Ability to operate onsite alone or in a team environment professionally representing Belcan to support multiple parties" interests (Customer/Supplier).
* Operate with speed and precision.
* Responsible for detecting, investigating, leading, and driving down complex supplier issues.
* Demonstrated capability to accurately assess quality deficiencies in manufacturing processes, and possesses the technical know-how to troubleshoot and solve complex manufacturability problems.
* Must have experience in both short and long-term improvement projects, with demonstrated capability to gain consensus and implement manufacturing process improvements.
* Proficient in their understanding and performance drivers of contracted KPIs.
* Root cause analysis and lean methodologies to aid in both throughput, quality and capacity related issues.
* Administers Supplier Corrective Action system and works with suppliers to resolve/correct quality and delivery problems.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
* ASQ Certification is a plus
* Strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) as it applies to Supplier Management
* Diplomatic approach to relationships
* Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies
* Assertive, optimistic, resilient and welcomes change
* Engages interest and participation of others and has a collaborative approach to working together
* Shows moral courage, openness and honesty in all dealings
* Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
* Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification or studying towards CIPS qualification would be beneficial
