Job Summary:
We are seeking a should cost focused manufacturing engineer to support advanced aerospace engine development programs, including the RISE, Open Fan, and Compact Core initiatives. In this role, you will develop detailed cost models and cost substantiation analyses for aerospace hardware, manufacturing processes, and technical services. Working closely with Engineering, Procurement, and Suppliers, you will evaluate manufacturing methods, assess producibility, validate supplier costs, and provide fact-based analysis that supports sourcing decisions and technology development efforts.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain detailed should-cost models for aerospace hardware, manufacturing processes, and technical services.
* Analyze supplier pricing, manufacturing methods, labor content, material costs, and production assumptions to create fact-based cost estimates.
* Support RISE technology maturation programs by processing and evaluating should-cost requests in a timely manner.
* Partner with Engineering, Sourcing, Procurement, and Supplier Quality teams to assess manufacturability, producibility, and cost drivers.
* Conduct cost substantiation activities to support sourcing decisions, supplier negotiations, and procurement strategies.
* Participate in supplier reviews, technical discussions, and fact-finding sessions to validate manufacturing approaches and cost assumptions.
* Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvements, and manufacturing efficiencies.
* Maintain accurate cost models, supporting documentation, and analysis records while ensuring compliance with program requirements and deadlines.

Required Qualifications
* Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
* Minimum of 2 years of procurement, sourcing, manufacturing, cost analysis, or related experience, including experience supporting government procurements.
* Ability to analyze technical and manufacturing data and translate findings into detailed cost estimates.
* Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, supplier, and procurement organizations.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen due to the nature of the project work.

Preferred Qualifications
* Aerospace or aviation industry experience.
* Prior experience supporting GE Aerospace programs or environments.
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, fabrication, assembly, and cost modeling methodologies.
* Experience participating in supplier cost reviews, negotiations, or technical evaluations.
