A CMM Software Engineer job in San Diego, California is currently available through Belcan. In this role, you will utilize metrology software: LK Camio (Nikon & Brown and Sharpe), PC-DMIS to measure composite parts and assemblies to customer requirements.
Job Title: CMM Software Engineer

Job Designation
The CMM Programmer is responsible for programming, set-up and operation of the Coordinate Measurement Machine including all aspects of part installation and orientation, CMM calibration, CMM operation, data collection, data processing and submittal.
Job Core Responsibilities
* Utilizes metrology software: LK Camio (Nikon & Brown and Sharpe), PC-DMIS to measure composite parts and assemblies to customer requirements.
* Is fully competent with ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing including comprehensive blueprint interpretation.
* Reads and interprets customer drawings and model based definition data sets for composite parts and assemblies.
* Develops CMM programs to achieve desired measurements and characteristics on aerospace parts and assemblies. Identifies preventative and predictive maintenance tasks and frequency for LK and Hexagon CMM"s and associated equipment. Troubleshoots and assists CMM false data to minimize downtime.
* Authors standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all internal CMM"s.
* Completes preventative and predictive maintenance repair logs
* Optimizes CMM run-times to ensure daily goals and production targets are met
* Provides CMM training to quality inspection personnel, quality engineers.
* Develops operator efficiencies related to inspection program execution. Complies with all Health and Safety Procedures
* Communicates daily with the Director of Engineering to ensure production priorities are met.
Job Specifications
Education : Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job responsibilities and expectations.
Certifications :
Years Experience : 5 - 10 years of relevant experience working with CMM and other precision measurement devices and gauges.
Skills :
* Programming and Operator experience with: PC-DMIS 2019 R2, CMM Manager and Camio Studio software used on Hexagon and Nikon Coordinate Measuring Machines
* Defines Renishaw Probe builds to successfully measure product and minimize errors
* Minimum of 5 years as a CMM programmer, applications engineer and operator. Experienced in reading and interrogating CAD models
* Knowledge of AS9100compliancy Knowledge of work holding methods
* Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, model based definition, inspection reports, and equipment calibration reports.
* Ability to use precision measuring devises, e.g., CMM, Romer Arm, Gages, etc., to an exacting standard. Microsoft Office Products - Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.
* Interpersonal skills - Able to take direction and work well with and motivate/teach others
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
