A Structural Technician II job is available with our client in Englewood, CO. As a Structural Technician, you will be using your skills and expertise to assemble and/or create major assembly structures and minor part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming. . To be considered for this role, you will have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and 5 years of relevant work experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assemble and/or create major assembly structures and minor part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming.
* Responsible for aligning parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles using templates and fixtures, and measuring parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
* Responsible for modifying incomplete and complete assemblies and incorporating the changes into the structure, and monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
* Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps.
* Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity.
* Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors.
* Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes.
* Frequently lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
* Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
* Occasionally exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
* Frequently exposed to loud noises.
* Responsible for the safety or security of people or property.
* Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles. Performs aviation related duties.
* Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must be a US Citizen
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required
* High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
* A higher level degree may substitute for experience OR
* Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
* Airframe and Powerplant certificate equivalent
* Must have/own tools in good working order
* Ability to understand and interpret applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
* Ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch
* Progressive experience with structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques and repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal, as applicable
* Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi-locks
* Ability to travel
* Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, NASA or US Military
