A Service Engineer job is available with a client in San Jose, CA. The individual will be responsible for working with the customer at their installation site to make certain that the equipment is installed and continues to operate properly.
* Installation of our high-tech automated systems, maintenance, service visits and repairs at our customer sites
* Technical consulting on our systems to ensure maximum operational capability and 110% customer satisfaction and promote our customer care contracts
* Co-operate closely with our automation chemists and business managers to provide technical Support
* Actively communicate customer needs and requirements to our service & support management and to the R&D department
* Support production department and perform final tests of tools and equipment
* Training of distributors and new or third-party service engineers
* Perform repairs of customer tools or modules in our repair center
* Solid education in electrical & mechanical engineering
* 3 Years of experience in repair and maintenance of instrumentation used in chemical laboratories (e.g. parallel synthesizers, liquid handlers, auto samplers, HPLC…)
* Enjoy direct contact with customers and frequent travel (national approx. 40-50%)
* Definite customer orientation and confidence to work independently
* General understanding of typical workflows in chemistry laboratories is a huge plus
* Solid communication skills in English, knowledge of any further language is a plus
* Solid user experience with Microsoft office products Excel and Word
