What you will do:
Our Senior Systems Engineering consultants are experts in complex product and system development with skills in systems engineering, technical project management, and team leadership. They are proactive self-starters who and can orient to new situations quickly and apply logical problem-solving skills to address customers" most challenging issues. Successful Base2 Systems Engineering consultants typically have a foundation in systems design and have extensive experience in most phases of the product development life cycle.
The nature of our systems engineering work and assignments vary depending on the specific customer engagements; our immediate needs are in the areas of requirements, verification planning, hardware qualification (environmental, structural), system safety, and cross-functional leadership in industries such as aviation, commercial space, and medical product development.
What you will be responsible for:
Contribute and add value to client projects in the areas of requirements analysis, definition, decomposition, traceability and management; system architecture and design, system integration, system verification and validation; technical program management, cross-functional leadership, technical issue resolution, or product management
Use systems engineering principles to develop an approach tailored to the need, the system, the customer, and the development organization
Develop and nurture long term customer relationships
Recognize client needs that may lead to additional opportunities for Base2
li>Keep abreast of current and new methods, technologies, and tools related to your field (e.g. Agile development methods, Model-Based Systems Engineering, etc.)
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related scientific degree
8+ years systems engineering experience, including:
System requirements (definition, decomposition, traceability, & management)
System verification & validation (planning, execution, artifact development)
System Safety processes & artifact development (e.g. FHA, FTA, FMECA, PSAC, PHAC)
Hardware qualification testing (environmental, structural)
Experience developing Systems Engineering processes & policies tailored to an organization developing novel products
Ability to travel locally between client site and Base2 office
Experience working in regulated industries (e.g. aerospace, defense, medical device)
Experience with hardware environmental qualification standards such as DO-160
Aerospace propulsion and fuel system components experience preferred (valves, actuators, pumps, sensors, ignition systems, etc.)
Experience with System Safety standards such as ARP4761, MIL-STD-882
Knowledge of hardware, software, or system certification processes
Experience with Agile development methods
Experience using the Rational Jazz Suite (e.g. DOORS NG, Quality Manager)
Aptitude to work collaboratively and drive consensus and alignment within and across organizational boundaries
Ability to influence executives, key decision-makers, and highly technical resources
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work onsite at client facilities
Master's Degree in engineering, the Sciences, or Business Administration
